Product details
Narra is a protected tree in the Philippines, so Luwad Studio in Baguio works only with reclaimed timber: beams and floorboards from old houses in Northern Luzon, planed back to clean wood. Each top is cut from one or two boards, so the grain runs from edge to edge.
The legs are joined to the frame with glued mortise-and-tenon joints, so there are no screws to work loose. At 55 cm the top sits level with most sofa arms and bed frames.
Colour ranges from honey to deep red-brown and darkens a little in the first year. Old nail holes are filled by hand and may show as small dark marks.

Wipe spills straight away with a soft, slightly damp cloth, then dry.
Use coasters and placemats under hot, cold or wet items.
Keep out of direct sun and away from heaters and air-con vents to prevent cracking.
Re-oil every 6 to 12 months with a natural furniture oil or beeswax.
